24 hours in Santa Barbara

Santa Barbara is not just an 80s television series. It’s a beautiful California city northwest of Los Angeles. Nestled between the Pacific and the Santa Ynez Mountains, it is a popular seaside resort where you can enjoy more than 320 days of sunshine a year. The Hollywood stars are not mistaken and often have a house there. We understand them!

It’s time to wake up in the heart of Santa Barbara, ideally at the Spanish Garden Inn, a luxury Spanish Colonial Revival style hotel. This architectural genre gives charm and homogeneity to the city. The breakfast is taken on one of the terraces of the hotel surrounded by palm trees, banana trees, bougainvilleas .
The tour begins with the  hiring of cab service from the best luxury cab service provider in the city and discovery of the city center. Human-sized, it has a neo-colonial style a little artificial but very aesthetic: white walls, black wrought iron, ocher tiles, colorful tiles, pretty wooden balconies … It looks like the south of Spain! The different historic buildings are all very central and everything can be done on foot. Do not miss the Santa Barbara County Courthouse.
Before lunch, it is nice to enjoy the local good life and do some shopping in the long main street, State Street, the surrounding streets and the Paseo Nuevo mall because here even the shopping centers are beautiful. Art galleries and craft shops are also worth a visit.
It’s time to sit down at one of the many restaurants in central Santa Barbara. For a simple but quality meal, you can choose the pretty Jane restaurant The Old Mission, the jewel of Santa Barbara, awaits visitors. The “Queen of the Missions” was founded by the Franciscans in 1786. It is outside the city, on a wooded hill from where we can see the Pacific. The buildings of the mission are at the center of the visit but the beauty and serenity of its gardens and its historic cemetery deserve a little attention.
